I visited most of the city by foot. Some places were really nice and quiet as the small island of Skeppsholmen where there are several museums.

Short stop in Imatra. This town near the Russian border and situated on Saima lake, has an impressive dam. Unfortunately, we didn't come at a time when water is released ...

Then go to Savonlinna, a city where there is a castle built in the XVI century to control the borders of Sweden and Russia. Every year there is a great opera festival there.

Like other Monday Trip about Finland, these photos were taken in 201O.

Monday trip 28: France / Château de Chambord

Let's discover the Château de Chambord.

In fact, we went there last friday with Li + Belle ;)

This large castle is in the Loire Valley not far from the city of Blois (center of France).

It's King Francois Ier, who built this castle in the sixteenth century. Leonardo da Vinci who lived not far from here, has influenced the architecture of this castle.
