corner view / close by

When I work in my office, I am rarely alone ...
Yumi is still around.

on my left (put on my desk), there is a basket where she spends hours...

and sleeps particularly well ...

she hides hoping that I play with her...

then she goes on the shelf located in my back.
She looks guilty because it's forbidden... usually ...

a bird seen through the window ...

the reason for which I don't want her to go on the shelf, that's it!
Much excitement, jumps and bitten books!

and finally taste the rest of tea (now cold) in my cup ...
So here's what's near me every day when I work ...;)

reading

Here is the order in which I read these 4 books and it's also my order of preference.

I was a little disappointed by the saga of Gunnar Staalesen. Some passages seemed rather long, I mixed different character names ... I read the first two volumes but I will not buy the number 3 or the following.

I had never read The Great Gatsby. It's done!
I really enjoyed it and I just regret this novel was too short!

This is the last novel of the Icelandic trilogy by Jon Kalman Stefansson. What a joy to dive into this book. This author is a true poet and I think the French translation is excellent too. Many times I read again passages several times because I thought they were just beautiful. I think this is the first time I do that. It's a shame because his other novels have not been translated into French.

Botanical Garden

Last week I went quickly to the botanical garden to take some pictures of the greenhouse for my work. This garden was created in 1843, covers an area of about 5 ha. It's located in the west of the city near one of the hospitals. I haven't visited all because I didn't have much time. I will come back to take more pictures when the plants will have more leaves, it will be nicer.
Happy weekend to you!

x2

I saw two nice movies this week.

"The Grand Hotel Budapest" by Wes Anderson is a crazy comedy with lots of famous actors and also full of good ideas and beautiful scenery. I think those who liked "Moonrise Kingdom" will love this one :)

The second (french) movie. I think it's a mixture of Mister Jack and Hugo Cabret. The film was directed by Mathias Malzieu of Dionysos band (the music is very cool). The story of a young boy who has a mechanical clock instead of the heart is very nice. There are pretty and fun ideas in this film.

Enjoy your weekend!

mountains & clouds

On the road towards the Pyrenees.
I love seeing this mountain barrier driving.
This photo was taken by my daughter between Toulouse and Foix.

After 7.5 hours of driving, we finally arrive ...

Clouds have wonderful colors during sunsets.

After 4 days of sunshine, the weather changed.

Weather forecast has announced a storm.

Almost 2 days of storm. I had never seen that. Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures when we were at 2000 meters altitude because the wind and snow blowing too hard.

Last Saturday, on the way back between Poitiers and Tours,
we saw incredible skies and clouds during sunset.
