Le vent se lève

I just saw this movie this afternoon. This is the latest movie by Hayao Miyazaki, unfortunately. This film is different from the previous ones because it's the biography of Jiro Horikoshi, a Japanese engineer who created the famous planes used during the World War II. This movie is quite dark and realistic but still full of poetry despite the subject. The scenery and landscapes are really beautiful. 

A very good cartoon more for adults than young children I think.

Monday trip 8 : Japan...

I take this Monday Trip to think about Japan and all the misery there is overthere.

8 years ago, we went to Sendai. It was the first Japanese city we visited.

At 50 km from Sendai, on the Pacific coast, we went to see the wonderful Matsushima small islands covered with pines. There were also some beautiful wooden temples.

Today this wonderful place is destroyed.

A thought for those people living hell ...

Maybe my best trip. That was in july 2003. The color pictures are a bit strange because I have scanned it. We visited Sendai, Nikko, Kyoto and Tokyo a bit.
Kyoto is beautiful, I loved it. It's so different from Europe. This trip was a wonderful discovery of Asia where I had never been before.
Here, I chose pictures of "traditional Japan": Kyoto, Nikko and Tokyo (the last one).
