lately

We had a lot of good weather lately. Every week I enjoy sunsets when my daughter rides. Soon it will be dark and cold ... so I will bring hot tea to wait and resist ;)

Have a nice weekend!

weekend

Last weekend was full.

It started with a riding lesson with my fearful friend, Oasis ...

then, walk downtown to enjoy the "fête de la musique"...

... rock concert in a small square enjoying a Guiness beer ;)  ....

... for French: this is not Michel Blanc ...

... after a moment, the reading seemed better than music ...

... here is the apartment of a (soccer) french team fan...

... small gospel concert here ...

... in a beautiful garden, a choir was singing ... but not always in tune ...

... a beautiful sequoia ...

It was the feast of the pony club Sunday. Pony games for children ...

... couscous and refreshing drinks for parents ...

... and jumping for riders who want to do ...

Voilà !

corner view / something to celebrate

I'm a little late to participate in Corner View, but I was not there yesterday ...

Last Sunday was the perfect day to celebrate my passion for horses!
A hike of 17 km in the countryside in the morning and a small obstacle course in the afternoon.
This photo was taken in the afternoon with my hubby who was very patient to wait for until the end of this beautiful day ;)

Corner view / hobbies

Today I decided to show you my favorite hobby! But this is no longer a secret to many of you ;) in fact it's rather horses than riding I prefer I think. And whatever the weather! Sunny or rainy, it's (almost) a pleasure always! On the second picture, I specify that I wear a protective vest under my blue jacket ... I'm not a thin girl, ok... but I don't practice American football ;)
Horses and riding are not my only hobbies. Here is a list of others: photo, traveling, tennis, music, movie, DIY, reading...

Eventing

Sorry for those who do not particularly like horses ... ;)

Last Sunday, we went to see a eventing near Saumur. For those who don't know this sport, this competition consists of three parts: dressage, show jumping and cross country. Sunday there was the cross country (about 4 km) in a beautiful place. There was the best French riders (some have participated in the Olympics).
I was impressed with their technique and speed. The horses are amazing, they are not afraid of anything! There was few falls ... luckily because I was afraid to see them ...

At the end of the day, my daughter who loved seeing this competition told me: Mum, I will never do eventing!

Ok girl, no problem for me ;)

Summer was here!

Picnic and drawing at the riding club party.

Running.

Jumping.

Picking (grass).

Picking again.

A mare focused on the picking.

Two mares and an old pony focused on picking and waiting for the grass delivery!

Yesterday was a nice and relaxing day and for once the weather was perfect. After the picnic, and after giving the grass for horses, we watched a horse trial in the fields.
Have a nice week.

Jappeloup

This afternoon we saw a (french) movie that I waited impatiently: Jappeloup.
This film tells the story of the wonderful jumping horse, Jappeloup and rider Pierre Durand. They won the gold medal at the Seoul Olympics in 1988. This story reminded me a lot of memories of my teens when I watched this horse and rider to the TV. I think I had a poster of this horse in my room :)
A beautiful film (not only for those who love horses & jumping), wonderful images, and good actors (Guillaume Canet, Daniel Auteuil,...).

Trailer (in french...)

He's very delicate.
When I give him a treat, he eats slowly doing a lot of funny faces.

So have a nice week [to all funny faces or not]
;)
