Sewing & reading

Big day: I tested my sewing machine to sew an apron!

I start with something simple because it's the first time I do that (the sewing machine was my christmas present...). Finally, I am very happy and even a little proud ;-)

And after this 'event': reading. In fact, the first one was a book for children (I like very much children book...)! This book looks like paper lace. It's so beautiful.

The second book is more serious but I'm just starting to read it. I enjoy these moments because I have the ironing to do this evening... :-(

Finally, I write in english (thank you for the encouragement!). It's still the best solution to improve my english language and to connect with people from different countries too.

Lazy time

Tonight, it's hard for me to write in english ....(it's often difficult, unfortunately). The day was lazy and tonight it's worse!

Finally, maybe I will write this blog in french. I don't know yet... What I know is that it would be easier for me to express myself! Well, as we say in France: "La nuit porte conseil" ("Sleep on it" in english?)... ;-)

Voilà...

The Christmas night was nice and sweet. Lots of candles, good meal, tasty beverages, a bit of emotion and hapiness! And today, a cold walk near a river, it feels good...

Waiting for Christmas dinner...

Last evening: aperitif with friends. On the menu, foie gras, goat's milk cheese, lemon pie ("tarte au citron meringuée" in french), white sparkling wine and red wine... That's all ;-) It was a nice evening!

Winter walk

The holidays begins with a sad and grey time... Brave, we went to a park where thre are games for childrens and a garden. It was a bit sad in the garden. Do not walk in the gardens in winter ... especially when it's gray and raining! It's bad for the mood!
So, to escape the sad weather, we went shopping! And I found a small red metal candlestick. I like it! Well, have a nice sunday.

Handmade earrings for a friend's birthday. I will give her next sunday and I hope she will like it!

Sweet sunday

I made orange jam this afternoon. It's only the second time in my life that I cook jam. I hope it will be good ... I'll make labels to stick on the jam jars. I will shoot pictures tomorrow. Have a nice week everybody.

Tea break

Tea break with one of my favorite mug. I bought this cup in Finland last summer, it's an Arabia one. Too bad it's so expensive...Beside the cup, a "survivor cake" ;-) that I did with my friends last tuesday!

Waiting for Christmas II

Tonight we finished installing Christmas decorations. This year the Christmas tree is in the dining room because there is more space than our living room. Some light decorations in the entrance of the house ... and outside, a Christmas olive tree!

White light and music

Today, I received a Simone White's cd, it's a pleasure to listen to it... The sun is back here... and the cat really likes that (he usually sleeps all day on sweet pillows :)  

Last evening, a friend of mine gave me two tickets for the concert of "M" (his name is Mathieu Chedid but his nickname is "M"). I'm not a fan of this singer but I was curious to see this concert because everyone told me that shows of "M" were very good.

And it's true! The show was great, full of energy.

Yesterday, I was invited to a Moroccan friend. She cooked a wonderful dish made of vermicelli sweet, chicken, onions, cinnamon, spices and toasted almonds. Is was really delicious. To eat with the mint tea, I cooked some almond candy (pralines aux amandes).
And after the meal, we have made oriental pastries. It was the first time I was doing that (it's a shame, I didn't take pictures...). These pastries will be sold on the market to earn money for our school childrens (for shows, tours, ...).

Waiting for christmas...

It was dark this afternoon so we decided to decorate the Christmas tree. My daughter was very excited! Finally, we have not had time to finish the decoration because we had to go to a concert of classical music.

The concert was great (Verdi, Gounod and Strauss). It's a good way to end the week... and to begin another one.

Today I had a lot of work and so little time to make pretty pictures ... The only one, it's my tea time, a sweet moment. I promise I will try to do better next time!

I hope that readers of this blog will be very lenient with my english language! It's a challenge for me to try to speak English correctly (almost...).
