bon weekend

Finally the weekend is here.
Part of the week my daughter stayed at home ... fever, sore throat, cough ...
it's a miracle I didn't catch that!
For the moment...

Take care.

corner view / experience

For the theme of this week, I dare talk about my graphic designer experience dating from many (many, many) years now ... I realized these cards two years ago to send here and there to get new customers and fortunately it worked :)  On the back of these cards, there were works I made. Right now I am making a new one but it's not finished, so impossible to show it to you, at the moment...

books

Among the last four books read, one has pleased me a lot. It's Emma by Jane Austen. What a pleasure to dive into the life of a small english community of the nineteenth century! I like the descriptions of the customs and habits of the time.

Le livre du Roi (Konungsbók) by Arnaldur Indrisson: A detective story between Copenhagen, Germany and Iceland. Nice but not totally excited.

Cent ans de solitude (Cien años de soledad) G Garcia Marquez: it's probably a good book, but I must admit that I lost with the characters that have almost all the same name over generations ...

Tamara McKinley / "Dreamscapes" (Le chant des secrets):
I didn't really like this book. I don't know if the French translation was bad but the text and the language used were flat and sometimes a bit cheesy. We knew the end from the beginning ...

Hawking or Marnie ? Both!

I saw these two movies this week and I loved them.
One was about a biopic of the physicist Stephen Hawking and the second a cartoon of Ghibli Studios (the same director as Arietty).
I shed tears for both too ... :)
Go watch these films I think you will have a great time.

Bon weekend à tous !

corner view / favorite plate(s)

If I have to choose only one plate, that would be at the top right one of the first photo.

This plate has sentimental value because it comes from my grandmother and great grandmother. I must have a dozen. I also have salad bowls and soup tureen decorated with the same pattern.

The second photo is a small plate of metal brought from Japan in 2003. I have two same. I often used it for snacks for aperitifs.

Pont de la Cerise

Back in 2014, in the hinterland of Nice (French Riviera) where we spend a day near the Pont de la Cerise (Cherry Bridge). Picnic, swimming and reading were the activities of the day. By late afternoon, we stopped in a village before returning to Nice ... but, sorry, I can not remember the name of this village ...

corner view / bathroom & shower

Before / After
(but not finished ... unfortunately)

The first picture was taken in 2004 when we visited the house for the first time.
10 years later, the tub is still not "dressed" ... but I have high hopes that this will be done during the Christmas holidays ;)

corner view / attendance

Two weeks ago I was at the unplugged show of the Belgian band Girls in Hawaii.
A great time. Usually, this theater is for operas.

I must admit that it was difficult to translate and accurately identify the topic of this Corner View...so this is a free interpretation ;)
