Corner view / am I an artist?

That is the question ... but I think I can answer quite easily. I am "un artiste du dimanche" ("spare time artist" is maybe the best translation?). And I think  the "artist" word is a bit too pompous too! Maybe "occasional and eclectic illustrator" is better.

China / Pingyao [1]

Stroll in Pingyao where we spent 3 days last August. It's a small town located 600 km southwest of Beijing, which is World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The historical center is surrounded by walls. We loved this place that keeps a lot of authenticity. It was a pleasure to walk through the small streets of this city. I think we took hundreds of photos, it's very hard to make a choice so I'll post other about Pingyao soon :)

Summer palace [1]

Today I wanted to show you pictures of the Summer Palace in the north-east of Beijing. You can take the metro to go there. It's a classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. This is a very large park where there are beautiful buildings and temples, lakes and gardens. We spent a whole day there and we enjoyed a lot.

Big bag

After much sweat and effort (don't laugh ...), my big bag is finished! I use it to carry all my riding stuff. I thought the oilcloth would be a good solution to fight against mud and dust :) Voilà !

Sorry for the bad photos, but with gray skie and rain, the house is dark today ...

Après beaucoup d'efforts et de transpiration (si, si, ne riez pas...), mon maxi sac est terminé ! Je m'en servirai pour transporter tout mon bazar d'équitation. Et c'est pour cette raison que j'ai voulu le faire en toile cirée (ou toile enduite plus exactement). Boue et poussière seront plus faciles à nettoyer...enfin je l'espère ! Voilà !

Désolée pour les photos, mais il fait tellement sombre aujourd'hui qu'il est impossible de faire une photo correcte :)

Chinese food [1]

We ate very well during our trip to China. Vegetables, pasta, meat (pork, beef, lamb), soups ... it was still tasty. On the last photo, these are wholemeal pasta ...

Kitchen fresco

There is a new fresco in the kitchen for some days... My daughter drew a picture with chalk that she saw at the Musée des Beaux-Arts last week during a school trip. This is a good start, right? :)

Depuis quelques jours, il y a une nouvelle fresque dans la cuisine. Ma fille a dessiné à la craie un tableau qu'elle a vu au Musée des Beaux-Arts la semaine dernière, lors d'une sortie scolaire. C'est un bon début, non ? :)

Depuis un certain temps, je me demande si je ne devrais pas faire une version française du texte que j'écris en anglais (ou l'inverse d'ailleurs !). En même temps, mes commentaires anglais sont souvent assez courts (comme ça je limite les fautes...) et très "franglais"... donc sans doute compréhensibles pour la plupart d'entre vous :) 

Je vous avouerai aussi que je ne suis pas certaine d'avoir beaucoup de lectrices (je ne parle même pas des lecteurs...) en France, donc voilà pourquoi je me pose toutes ces questions !

Alors voilà, j'aimerais beaucoup avoir votre avis, que vous soyez lecteur assidu :) occasionnel, anonyme, etc...  :)

I wanted to show you these pictures I took last July during our visit to the Garden Festival of Chaumont sur ​​Loire (more photos here). In the castle park, the american artist Patrick Dougherty has created vegetable huts by plaiting willow. I thought it was really nice, it reminded me of bird nests.
